Our New Look and the Story Behind It
Curious What Really Happens Behind the Scenes of a Rebrand?
When we first started dreaming about giving our brand a fresh new name and look, we didn’t call a big design agency or book a fancy strategy session.
Instead, we did what we do best.
We gathered around the fireplace in our living room and started tossing around ideas.
And you know what’s one of our favorite parts of this rebrand?
Our daughter designed our new Pathfinder Press logo and helped redesign our website from the ground up.
Why We Wanted a New Look
When we landed on the name Pathfinder Press, it just felt right. The name perfectly captured our mission: helping families find their way as they craft stories that shine light, share truth, and point little hearts toward Jesus.
We wanted our logo and website to reflect that same heart.
Warm. Inviting. Simple. Timeless.
Just like the stories we love to read aloud together.
How Our Daughter Got Involved
Our daughter has always had an eye for art and a steady interest in design, and over the years she’s intentionally developed those skills through practice and study. So when we shared our vision for a new brand direction, she stepped in with confidence and clarity.
The days were marked by thoughtful concept sketches, designs laid out for review, and meaningful conversations as we considered how each option might translate to book covers, bookmarks, and our website.

She worked patiently through revisions, refining colors, shapes, and balance until the final design felt aligned not just visually, but missionally. When it clicked, we all knew it.
It was a sweet reminder that meaningful work doesn’t have to pull families in different directions. Sometimes, it brings everyone back to the same table using the gifts God has placed within our family to build something together.
The Meaning Behind the New Logo
At first glance, our Pathfinder Press logo looks like a trailhead sign set among gentle hills. But look a little closer, and you’ll notice it’s also an open book.

That detail means so much to us.
It reflects who we are: a family that loves a good story, enjoys a great adventure, and is doing our best to walk in step with the path God has set before us, trusting Him to use stories to point hearts toward what matters most.
We also refreshed our color palette. While keeping much of the bright, welcoming feel from Talya Press, we added green and sand tones to reflect nature, adventure, and the wide, beautiful world waiting to be explored through books.

Every time we see that little signpost resting in an open book, we’re reminded of this truth:
Stories can help light the path, but Jesus is the true Way. He leads us forward, step by step, and we never walk this trail alone.
The Pattern That Brings It All Together
One of our favorite details in the redesign is a custom, hand-drawn pattern filled with campy, trail-inspired elements. Think hiking paths, forest trees, and tiny trail markers—all tucked into the background of our site. (See if you can spot it on our Home Page and our About Us page!)

It’s subtle, but meaningful.
That pattern reminds us that stories don’t just live on bookshelves. They’re woven into everyday life, into conversations, projects, prayers, and shared moments, quietly pointing our families back to wonder and toward the path ahead.
An Encouragement for Your Family
If you’ve ever thought about inviting your kids to help with a family project, big or small, we say: try it!
Let them doodle ideas, write the first draft, brainstorm a name, or test out designs.
You might be surprised by what they create. And the memories you make together will last even longer than the finished project.
Tell Us Your Story
Has your family ever tackled a project together? We’d love to hear how creativity shows up in your everyday life. Drop a comment below! Your story might spark courage or ideas for another family, too.
And if your kids dream of writing a book, stay close. We’re quietly working on simple, encouraging tools to help young storytellers get started.
Together, we can build family stories worth sharing and a legacy that makes Jesus smile.
